While I still learned to play harp on a sturdy lever

While I still learned to play harp on a sturdy lever harp I loved to try one or the other technique described by Salzedo in "Modern Study of the Harp" from 1921. But they are really for the advanced musician and sometimes depend on the use of pedals. I rather stuck to the two volumes of "Sketches for Harpist Beginners" from 1954/59 with titles like "Falling Leaves", "Beethoven at school" or "Pagan Rite" (some kind of 'Sacre du Printemps') by him. These compositions are manageble on a small harp, fun and prevent the arrogance of the folk bunnies.

I recomment to listen to the excerpt of Scintillation or La Desirade from Sylvia Woods's website.
